11 — Course description
1.1 Introduction
The « First Aider – School environment (8h) » training is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the ministère de la Famille, providing targeted preparation for emergency situations involving young children. Eight hours in length, this training is essential for anyone who works closely with early childhood, providing them with the skills needed to effectively manage emergencies, including severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis.
It is particularly relevant for educators, parents, and all early childhood professionals, allowing them to acquire precise techniques for managing child-specific emergencies.
1.2 Course objective
The course is rigorously designed to meet the standards of the ministère de l'Éducation and aims to equip each participant with essential first aid skills adapted to emergency situations involving children in a school setting. The objectives:

CPR/AED — Introduction to CPR and primary assessment
- Know the content and objectives of the training, the challenges of CPR and airway clearance
- Awareness of the importance of CPR maneuvers, national guidelines, causes of cardiac arrest, angina and stroke
- Quickly recognize the type of victim, validate breathing and pulse, recognize cardiac arrest
- Apply the correct intervention techniques according to the rescuer's primary assessment
Chest compressions — Ventilations — Defibrillation
- Proper chest compression techniques for adults, children and infants according to the latest national standards
- Proper ventilation techniques — mouth-to-mouth, pocket mask, face shield — for all victims
- Safe use of the AED, its risks and specific considerations for infants

- Foreword: principles of trauma intervention, do not move a victim except in specific uncontrolled-risk situations
- Approach and primary assessment – TRAUMA: hazards, cervical/spinal immobilization, primary assessment, management of vital functions (A, B, C)

44 — Theoretical teaching, evaluations and practices
4.1 Theoretical teaching
It is crucial to complete all the readings provided before progressing. After each section, you must click the « DONE » button. An interactive medical glossary is available: highlighted terms offer a tooltip and a link to a full definition.
4.2 Theoretical evaluations
At the end of each module, a multiple-choice quiz must be completed within 60 minutes. Minimum score required: 80%. Up to 10 retakes allowed. A « Need a hint? » button is available during the evaluations.
4.3 Practical sessions
Before each practical session, you will be guided in building a CPR manikin using everyday objects. An animated video guides participants through each step of the maneuvers. Our automated system monitors the time spent on each session — progress is blocked until the session is fully completed. The FRSQC mobile application is available as a complementary support at all times.
55 — Deadline management
From the date of purchase, you have 10 weeks to complete the entire program. Inactivity of more than 10 weeks results in a temporary suspension of the file. To reactivate your access, contact FRSQC at [email protected].

Upon completion of the training, once all evaluations are passed, an official « First Aider – School environment (8h) » certificate will be issued to you in electronic format, immediately available for download, email delivery or printing.
